American Bible Society and The U.S. Convention of Catholic Bishops developed a mobile application called "Pilgrimage." The application was designed for U.S. Catholic youths attending World Youth Day in Krakow, Poland. Organizers sought to make the application more than simply informational.
Greenfish Labs was commissioned to produce a number of daily, immersive VR experiences to the Pilgrimage application. The VR components were captured and placed on the application in real-time, showcasing the sights and sounds of the many events during the 4 day festival, including Pope Francis' closing Mass.
Through partnership with Nokia Ozo, Greenfish Labs became the first VR company to capture a live Mass with Pope Francis in VR. The mobile application was available to the over 3 million attendees, with the Greenfish crew producing 4 to 5 VR experiences per day.
